The first musical experiences Karl Lundeberg had were with his family's traditional Norwegian music group, the Berntsons. Ever since, the study of traditional and ethnic music of all types has been an important component of his musical career.

His deep understanding and great respect for non-Western music is obvious in his many ollaborations with traditional musicians from around the world.

From Javanese to East African, from Egyptian to Brazilian, from Persian to Irish, Karl Lundeberg's fascination with and knowledge of ethnic music gives his work a distinctly colorful and uniquely eclectic flavor.
